Somewhere in Portland, Oregon, in a basement that smells like spilled soda, amp dust and a half-eaten slice from last Tuesday, something started to swell. It was red. It was angry. It was ready to pop.

That something is Zitz Records, the proud birthplace of Pimple Pop Punk: the loudest, snottiest, most gloriously unsqueezable genre ever to break out on the face of rock and roll.

So what is Pimple Pop Punk? It's everything you loved about pop punk the first time you heard it: the hooks that stick to your brain like gum under a desk, the gang vocals you scream in the car with the windows down, the three-chord sugar rush that makes you want to jump off something. Then we crank it up with the grit of skate punk and bring it back down with the gush of... eww... love. The kind of tunes that belong blasting out of a boombox at the bottom of a half-pipe while somebody eats it on a kickflip. It's catchy. It's fast. It's a little bit gross. And it's impossible to leave alone.

Leading the breakout are The Brickabrats, the band that squeezed Pimple Pop Punk into existence. They play like a garage full of teenagers who never grew up and never plan to, with hooks for days, guitars that buzz like a bad fluorescent light, and choruses built for shouting back at the stage. Their debut single "Fun Night" drops October 9, 2026, followed by their take on The Who's "Boris The Spider" on November 20 and the THWACK! EP on January 22, 2027.

At Zitz Records, we believe punk rock should feel like the best night of your teenage life: no rules, no curfew, and absolutely no skincare routine. We're an independent label run by musicians, for musicians and for everyone who still has a pogo-stick, roller skates or skateboard in the closet and a mixtape in their heart. The Brickabrats are just the first zit to pop. More Pimple Pop Punk bands are on the way, and they're all breaking out soon.

So grab your board, crank the volume, and don't pick at it.
